AWLC was founded in Lima in 1922 by a group of women from the United States who shared an interest in literature, the arts and Peruvian cuture. It is a social club where English-speaking women come to build friendships, broaden their horizons, unwind, have fun, and help support educational projects in Peru.

We have a long tradition as a premier English-speaking women's club in Peru. Not only do we have a fascinating 99 year history to share, but we continue to evolve and reflect our members' diverse interests. We enjoy new ideas and encourage people to share their passions and enthusiasm with us.
